Emily Smith

Emily discovered yoga in 2015, looking to balance her love of running, and quickly fell in love with hot power flow and ashtanga vinyasa. She loves how yoga builds strength, flexibility, and resilience throughout the entire body and mind, and how the practice of breathing through difficult asanas translates into everyday life. She pursued teacher training to deepen her own practice and found that she enjoys giving the gift of yoga to others just as much as practicing herself. Emily completed her 500-hour certification in 2018 focusing on power vinyasa and ashtanga vinyasa, and completed an additional 200-hour vinyasa training in 2020 led by Patrick Beach. Emily seeks to empower others to honor their bodies, overcome fear, and believe they are worth every moment they spend on their mats.

Lauren Vestal

Lauren’s yoga practice began her freshman year at Williams College to fulfill a PE credit and bring balance to her soccer workouts (and hopefully some relief for her achy knees). She didn’t know at the time that yoga would become a constant, healing presence in her life — physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Lauren moved from Manhattan to Memphis at the end of 2015 and signed up for Teacher Training at Hot Yoga Plus where she completed her 200 hour certification. She then dove into further training in Yin, Sculpt and Ashtanga. Lauren also completed her RYT-300 Teacher Training at Hot Yoga Plus to become a RYT-500 certified teacher. Lauren teaches to foster strength and growth by empowering students to take one more breath for themselves and their communities.
