200-Hour Yoga Training Agenda & Goals

The Grow Yoga Teacher training uncovers multiple layers of Power Flow yoga practices. Students who participate in the training will engage in the theory and practice of power yoga, restorative yoga, meditation, and pranayama, as well as gain tools to sharpen their insights, intentions, and abilities.

The following areas will be covered over seven training weekends:

  • Intensive study of Power Flow
  • Yoga anatomy and physiology
  • Sanskrit names of postures
  • Pranayama techniques
  • History and philosophy of yoga
  • Basic injury modifications
  • Ethics of teaching yoga
  • Business of yoga
  • Teacher development
  • Assisting
  • Classroom emergency management

Students will leave this training with a basic foundational level of mastery in:

  • Confidently teaching a Power Flow class
  • Assisting classes verbally and with physical touch
  • Personal development and group leadership skills
  • A basic overview of yoga anatomy
  • A basic overview of yoga philosophy

Student Requirements

This training requires a large self-study component. Participants will be required to complete 65 practice hours on their own in Hot Yoga Plus classes, two book reports, and 15 in-class assists at Hot Yoga Plus. Participants must also receive a passing grade on a teaching practicum and anatomy, philosophy, and Sanskrit tests.

The seven weekends of training will follow this general schedule:

  • Friday 6pm – 9pm
  • Saturday 8am – 6pm
  • Sunday 8am – 5pm

Breaks are given for meals, etc. *Schedule above is an estimate. Exact hours are subject to change based on the group and the instructors’ discretion. Some training and practice teaching may start on Thursday evenings.

Cost

Teacher training tuition is $3150 (early bird discount may be available) and includes a discounted unlimited yoga membership at Hot Yoga Plus beginning as soon as the early bird deadline ends and a $500 non-refundable deposit has been paid.
